Moving Veterans Forward is dedicated to helping homeless Veterans in Iowa and Nebraska to get placed in homes.
The main goal is to give these veterans the boost that they need to turn themselves around to become self-sufficient.
To provide a safe and nurturing environment with support services for families and individuals experiencing the crisis of homelessness.
MICAH House will help to end homelessness by restoring hope to families and individuals while preserving family unity; empowering all to live independently and free from the crisis of homelessness through community support and collaboration.
MICAH House, founded in 1986, is an emergency family homeless shelter that provides shelter and support services to hundreds of children and adults annually.
Through a network of services, MICAH House provides support and security to individuals who are uncertain about their future and are worried for the safety and well-being of their children. Families and single women who enter MICAH House are provided an array of services including nutritious meals, counseling resources, an on-site health clinic, and a trauma-informed (BUDDY) play program.
MICAH House follows similar policies set forth by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and does not discriminate in its programs or activities based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity (including gender expression), sexual orientation, disability, age, marital status, family/parental status, income derived from a public assistance program, political beliefs, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity.
Each day, Open Door Mission’s campus offers 917 safe, shelter beds to people experiencing homelessness, serves over 4,747 nutritious meals to feed the hungry, and provides homeless preventive resources to more than 1,000 people living in poverty to empower them to remain in their own homes.
Siena Francis House welcomes and empowers those experiencing homelessness to navigate their path to housing.
Founded in 1975, Siena Francis House is Nebraska's largest provider of services to individuals experiencing homelessness, and is located in six facilities at 17th & Nicholas Streets in downtown Omaha. While Siena Francis House provides emergency shelter, food and clothing to individuals experiencing homelessness, our ultimate goal is to end homelessness by helping each and every guest achieve housing out in the community. As part of this effort, Siena Francis House also provides Permanent Supportive Housing for formerly homeless, disabled persons on our campus.
Our Mission
Assisting victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking and stalking and their children to achieve safety and empowering them to lead self-determined lives.
Wherever you are in your journey, we are here to walk with you.
